After twelve years representing physicians, healthcare facilities, and individuals and companies accused of causing motor vehicle accidents — primarily on behalf of insurance companies — Robert R. Hopkins made a significant professional shift.

Over time, he became disillusioned with a role that focused on shielding individuals and companies from responsibility. That experience gave him a deep understanding of how insurance companies evaluate cases, how defense strategies are built, and how opposing counsel approaches litigation. But it also clarified where he wanted to stand.

In late 2025, he established The Law Offices of Robert R. Hopkins, LLC with a clear purpose: to provide individuals and families with personalized legal representation rooted in problem-solving, preparation, and integrity.

Today, his practice focuses primarily on divorce and family law matters, while also representing clients in select personal injury cases involving auto accidents, commercial vehicle collisions, motorcycle accidents, slip and fall injuries, and nursing home negligence.

A Different Philosophy: Solutions Over “Fights”

One question Mr. Hopkins often hears in consultations is:

    “Will you fight for me?”

He understands the concern behind that question. But he does not view effective legal representation as a “fight” for the sake of fighting.

    Overly aggressive tactics can:

    • Prolong litigation

    • Increase financial and emotional costs

    • Harden opposing positions

    • Reduce opportunities for practical resolution

Instead, his approach is measured, strategic, and solution-driven.

He prepares thoroughly, negotiates assertively, leverages facts effectively, and when necessary, advocates firmly in court. But his goal is not escalation; it is resolution.

This philosophy applies equally in divorce matters and personal injury cases. In family law, unnecessary hostility can make settlement more difficult and increase strain on families. In personal injury cases, posturing rarely changes how insurance carriers evaluate risk. Careful preparation and persuasive advocacy do.

As Sun Tzu wrote, “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” That principle guides his approach: preparation, discipline, and strategic positioning.
